Sept. 27 Rennaissance Festival

Another splendid weekend for the festival. Not as crowded as it was last Saturday. We took the time to watch a couple of the shows this time instead of just walking around looking for photos. We are getting a little anxious for the "Wedding of the Century" next Sunday. Hope the couples do decide to pay for the after wedding portraits. That would be a big step for our business as they are expecting 60 couples. Anyway here are a few select photos from the day:

Returning to the Renaissance Festival Sept. 27

We have decided we are going back to Ren Fest to try and get some better shots and to scout more locations for the "Wedding of the Century" that we will be shooting on October 5th.

I ordered a flash bouncer for my SB-600 flash so I am hoping I can get some better light quality while doing on location shoots. I normally use a piece of cardstock and just cut what I need, but it does not take long to get them crumpled. I wanted something a little sturdier.

Don't forget to check out our website at www.premierphotokc.com. We have stock images and other information on pricing.

Renaissance Festival 2008

We had a blast at the Ren fest this year. It was my first time going. Connor, our son, did not like all the people and the noise but I think our daughter Kim had fun. We loved seeing all the costumes and would love to go back and get more shots of everyone. But for now, these will have to do.

Our First Day of Renaissance Festival

Saturday, September 20th, 2008. We had to re-schedule our meeting with the Ren fest wedding but we still had a great time at Ren Fest. Many colorful people and the jousting tournament was great. We are going back today without the kids to scope out portrait locations for the Wedding of the Century on October 5. For now here are a few photos from our first day.

Getting closer to the weekend!!!

Well the weekend is almost here. On Saturday, we are taking our kids to the Renaissance Festival in Bonner Springs. I have never been before so I am really looking forward to seeing everything there.

On Saturday evening my Grandmother is turning 90 so we are going to a birthday party for her.

Sunday is going to have us down in Osawatamie at the Freedom Festival. There is supposed to be a Civil War re-enactment going on.

I was informed today that next weekend there is a Wild West Show down in Olathe, KS so we will probably do that as well. Check back on Monday for photos and more details.

See you then....

2008 Pioneer Days in Edgerton, MO

Pioneer Days was held in Edgerton over the weekend and we were there, in the rain on Saturday and the wind and cold on Sunday. There was not a large crowd as was expected, more than likely due to the weather. We did cover the parade and the Border Creek Raiders were there performing a few skits (my favorite part). There are far too many photos to post here so a link to the gallery on our website will have to suffice... www.premierphotokc.com/pioneerdays

2008 End of the Trail Bike Rally

After the kids were sent to spend the Friday night with Grandma & Grandpa, Katy and I spent Friday afternoon and evening in Platte City, MO at the End of the Trail Bike Rally. The loud music playing added alot of atmosphere to the even. Paula Nelson took the stage Friday night, though we did not stay that late. A couple of people showed some interest in our booth.

Saturday we were there nearly all day photographing the event. I don't think they had the turn out they were expecting, but it was rainy and at time a bit chilly. There were still alot of people that came by. We met several of the vendors and had a lot of fun talking to them. We photographed the motorcycle contest and the parade, and several shots of the crowd and vendors. Several riders showed interest in us doing the portraits with their bikes, but the rain prevented us from doing much.

Saturday we went and picked up Kim & Connor early and brought them out to watch the concert. We wanted to watch Black Oak Arkansas but it was way passed Connor's bed time and he was getting cold. Overall we had alot of fun and hope to participate again next year, maybe the weather will be a little better...

Photos will be on our website on Thursday September 11, 2008: www.premierphotokc.com

August 30th Portrait Session

A lovely young woman named Candice and her daughter was the models for this session. She was great to work with and friendly. Both were very camera friendly and I hope we can work together again. Thank you Candice!
